Antique English Bone or Appetizer Crescent Shaped Plates by J & G Meakin Ironstone China in Ipswich Pattern Set of 6
This lovely set of plates are shaped in a crescent shape, designed to sit beside dinner plates to hold bones. They are a blue motif with hand painted gold accents on a white background. There is a raised pattern in both corners of each plate, which makes them tactile and unique.
These are highly sought after pieces that are extremely difficult to find, especially in this condition. Produced in England around 1917, each piece marked and signed by the painter. The pattern is now discontinued.
There are some manufacturers faults and the gold gilding on the edges of the plates is worn, due to age and use. Excellent antique condition with wear consistent with age. No chips on any piece.
