Vintage childrens book. Dust jacket has faded spine and closed tears at top edge, now in new removable protective cover. Green boards with dark green print on front and spine. Green pictorial end papers - pond scene. Pages are clean and unmarked. Frontispiece and three full page illustrations are printed on glossy paper, tipped-in; all present and intact. Grosset and Dunlap hard cover with dust jacket, 1926 edition but later printing (probably 1940s from the binding style). 206 pages, illustrated by Harrison Cady. 8vo (7.5" x 5") #3 in the Smiling Pool series, preceded by Billy Mink, and Little Joe Otter; and followed by Longlegs the Heron. Jerry Muskrat was a busy little fellow who took great pains in building his new house in Smiling Pool and laying up a good supply of food for the winter.
